Job summary

Barrington James Limited is seeking a high-calibre Business Development Director to identify and secure pharmaceutical assets across APAC, driving the next phase of regional growth.

This senior role focuses approximately 80% on Business Development and 20% on M&A, requiring an international network and the ability to navigate regulatory, pricing and market access landscapes across major markets including US, Europe, Japan, and more.

Qualifications

• Must have proven pharmaceutical BD/licensing experience with track record of sourcing assets internationally.
• Experience identifying clinically validated assets with commercial potential.
• Strong understanding of regulatory, commercial and market access pathways across APAC.

Responsibilities

• Identify and source innovative pharmaceutical assets with established clinical profiles and clear commercial potential across APAC.
• Build and leverage relationships with pharma, biotech and asset owners across international markets.
• Assess opportunities across therapy areas, regulatory pathways, pricing, timelines and competitive landscapes.
• Advise senior leadership on assets and therapeutic areas to prioritise, including portfolio expansion opportunities.
• Lead opportunities from initial assessment and valuation through negotiation and contract execution.
• Partner closely with internal commercial, regulatory, medical and market access teams to assess and execute opportunities.
• Provide strategic input into selected M&A opportunities.
