Job summary

Abbott Laboratories in Singapore seeks a Director of Business Development APAC to proactively identify and evaluate potential targets aligned with Abbott’s growth strategies. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA preferred in Finance/Accounting/Technical disciplines.
• 5+ years of M&A experience, including acquisitions and opportunity assessments.
• 10+ years of pharmaceutical industry experience.
• Strong understanding of product development, regulatory and commercialization processes.
• Demonstrated leadership to drive projects and deliver results.
• Strong communication skills to present strategies and collaborate cross-functionally.
• Strong networking skills to engage industry decision-makers and opportunities.
• Negotiation and influencing skills to close deals with partner companies.
• Strong financial acumen and analytical skills to evaluate opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Research, identify and evaluate potential targets aligned with Abbott’s strategies.
• Lead due diligence: manage external interactions and timelines, develop recommendations.
• Develop deal structures, risk mitigation and negotiating strategies.
• Lead, negotiate and close diverse transactions from IP rights to acquisitions.
• Manage external stakeholders (CEOs) and internal executives; prepare assessments for leadership.
• Coordinate cross-functional teams through due diligence with marketing, R&D, clinical, regulatory and ops.
• Lead alliance management for existing partnerships.
• Deliver oral and written presentations to seek approval for opportunities.
• Assess key markets, companies and technologies as SME for business segments.
