Job summary

Adyen in Singapore is seeking an Engineering Lead for Payments to guide APAC engineering efforts, scale our payment innovations for merchants, and align with global platform strategy.

You will partner with product and commercial leaders, hire and mentor 25–50 engineers, and ensure timely delivery across time zones while maintaining an engineering culture that emphasizes simplicity, scalability, and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Over 10 years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
• Experience hiring and managing a sizeable software org (25–50 engineers), including managers.
• Strong background building large-scale distributed systems, ideally with Java or similar languages.
• Experience in the Payments industry.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, able to translate technical concepts for tech and non-tech audiences.
• Able to streamline engineering operations and collaborate with product and merchants.
• Curious about merchants' challenges and empathetic to solving problems.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance and a clear engineering vision for the APAC region.
• Foster continuous innovation and lead the region's payments initiatives.
• Build and retain a best-in-class engineering team.
• Act as the primary engineering contact for merchants in the region.
• Partner globally to deliver on a single platform while meeting regional needs.
• Ensure timely project delivery, remove blockers, and assist with planning.
