Job summary

Samsonite Brands Private Limited in Singapore is seeking an entry-level Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting, focusing on A/P and A/R, with responsibilities spanning invoicing, reconciliations, and cash flow monitoring.

You will support month-end close, audit schedules, intercompany reconciliations, and ad-hoc projects, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, APAC & ME. Solid Excel skills and SAP knowledge are preferred.

Qualifications

• Diploma or higher qualification in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
• Entry-level candidates encouraged; 1–3 years in accounting in an MNC environment is an advantage.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred; hands-on SAP experience is an advantage.
• Good understanding of basic accounting principles; positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to manage high-volume transactions; work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with SOX controls, Concur, and DocuWare will be an added advantage.

Responsibilities

• Full spectrum of A/P duties including timely recording of vendor invoices and staff reimbursements.
• GRIR matching and liaising with logistics on discrepancies.
• Verify and ensure completeness of supporting documents.
• Execute weekly payments and manage timely payments to vendors and inter-companies.
• Monitor bank accounts and update cash book daily; prepare weekly cashflow forecast.
• Disbursement and reimbursement of petty cash.
• Full spectrum of A/R duties including monthly issuance of intercompany and third-party debit/credit notes.
• Record collections promptly; reconcile intercompany receipts.
• Assist in month-end closing, accruals, prepayments reversal, and audit/document prep.
• Assist in year-end closing and provide documents for auditors and tax consultants.
• Support ad-hoc assignments and projects as required.
