Job summary

DECATHLON is hiring a Backend Software Engineer in Singapore to build and maintain scalable backend services for our APAC e-commerce platforms. You will design APIs, implement microservices with Java and Spring Boot, and ensure security and reliability across systems.

You will collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Managers, and cross-functional teams to deliver features on time while maintaining high code quality, documentation, and observability.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of backend software engineering experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Understanding of RESTful API design and HTTP status codes.
• Experience securing web services with OAuth 2.0.
• Experience with relational databases and asynchronous messaging systems.
• Knowledge of cloud-native microservices, containerization, Kubernetes, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Develop features and deliver software for e-commerce backend services.
• Design robust backend APIs and scalable microservices for APAC.
• Uphold code quality with unit/integration tests and security practices.
• Share knowledge and align with Product, Engineering Managers, and stakeholders.
