Job summary

Moody's Corporation in Singapore seeks an experienced Corporate Counsel to support customer contracts for SaaS software and data licenses across Southeast Asia. You will draft, negotiate, and advise on complex agreements while collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement Moody’s policies.

With 6–12 years of law firm or in‑house experience, you will balance legal risk with commercial objectives, contribute to template development, and stay abreast of AI developments and responsible AI

Qualifications

• 6–12 years’ experience in law firm and/or in-house.
• Experience in financial services or technology industries preferred.
• Independent self-starter with sound judgment and ability to manage priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication; explain policies to stakeholders.
• Collaborative team player with legal and commercial acumen.
• Basic understanding of AI concepts and interest in responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate customer contracts for SaaS software and data with private and public sector customers.
• Review, draft, and negotiate software licenses, data licenses, SaaS subscriptions, SLAs, and related agreements.
• Provide legal guidance on contractual matters and mitigate risks consistent with Moody’s positions.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (sales, marketing, finance, operations) on legal matters.
• Represent the MA Legal team in regional meetings and global staff meetings.
• Track matters, document non‑standard terms, and liaise with subject‑matter experts.
• Stay updated on legal developments and work with outside counsel when needed.
• Develop and maintain contract templates and usage notes with the team.
• Support Moody’s business policies, including preferred contract terms.
• Navigate privacy and information security concerns arising from transactions.
• Explain contracting policies to sales teams and provide related training in APAC.
• Work with in‑house lawyers, sales ops, finance, product management, support, and delivery teams to close deals.
• Be responsive to commercial sales teams to close deals timely on Moody’s terms.
• Complete special projects and initiatives within legal or cross‑functional teams.
• Improve internal processes with initiative and creativity.
