Stripe in Singapore is seeking an experienced APAC Credit Risk Underwriter to underwrite and manage a portfolio of the company’s largest and fastest-growing partners across the region. The role requires evaluating complex business models and financial information, developing clear credit recommendations, and identifying mitigations that balance Stripe’s exposure with sustainable user growth.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial credit underwriting experience.
• Ability to evaluate financial statements, cash flows, and repayment sources.
• Strong written and verbal communication for senior stakeholders.
• Ability to balance risk with user growth and business objectives.
• Experience working cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, Treasury, Finance, Product, Operations, or Risk.
• Fluency in Mandarin is a plus (preferred).

Responsabilités

• Underwrite and manage a portfolio of APAC Stripe customers.
• Evaluate complex business models and financial information to form clear credit recommendations.
• Develop data-driven risk mitigations to balance credit exposure with growth.
• Build expertise across APAC industries, geographies, and payment flows.
• Provide credit insights to support onboarding, portfolio management, and pricing analysis.
• Conduct periodic reviews and trigger-based reviews to manage risk exposure.
• Support refinement of underwriting policies, tools, and controls.
• Communicate credit decisions clearly to internal stakeholders and customers.
• Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Treasury, Finance, Product, Engineering, and Operations to resolve complex cases.
• Identify trends and translate insights into policy improvements.
