Job summary

John Zink, a Koch Engineered Solutions business, seeks an APAC Combustion Solutions Specialist – Process Burners to drive regional growth across Asia Pacific. You will combine combustion expertise with process engineering and economic insights to improve customer performance and support long-term business growth.

You will collaborate with Commercial, Applications, and Project Teams to turn customer needs into executable opportunities from early engagement through commissioning and optimization.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English required.
• 5 years of experience in refining, gas, petrochemical, or related industry.
• Willingness to travel 30-40% within APAC and some global travel.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate across Commercial, RCA, KAM, Applications, Process Engineering, Services, Innovation, and Project Teams to drive regional growth.
• Serve as the primary technical-commercial interface for key customers and translate challenges into opportunities.
• Identify and shape aftermarket, revamp, retrofit, upgrade and new equipment opportunities.
• Lead technical solution development integrating combustion, process, and economic considerations.
• Provide Process Burner technical SME support across APAC, including CFD/test recommendations.
• Support project execution with site surveys, RFQ reviews, and technical clarifications.
• Act as Voice of the Customer by gathering market intelligence and translating into initiatives.
• Develop strategic technical relationships with key accounts and stakeholders.
• Drive capability development and standardization with training and tools.

At John Zink, we are seeking an APAC Combustion Solutions Specialist – Process Burners to drive regional growth and create customer value through technical-commercial leadership and combustion expertise. You will work directly with customers to understand their operational challenges and develop differentiated solutions across new equipment, aftermarket, revamp, retrofit, and upgrade opportunities.

This role is an opportunity to shape combustion solutions across Asia Pacific by combining combustion, process engineering, operational, and economic insights to improve customer performance and support long‑term business growth. You will build trusted technical relationships, bring customer and market insights into product and service innovation, and strengthen regional technical capabilities through training, knowledge sharing, and improved design practices.

As the APAC Combustion Solutions Specialist, you will partner closely with Commercial, account teams, Applications, Process Engineering, Services, Innovation, and Project Teams to turn customer needs into executable opportunities and support high‑quality delivery. From early customer engagement and technical solution development through commissioning, troubleshooting, and performance optimization, you will help create value across the full lifecycle of our process burner solutions.

What you will do:

• Collaborate across Commercial, RCA, KAM, Applications, Process Engineering, Services, Innovation, and Project Teams to maximize regional growth, improve win rates, and ensure high‑quality execution.


• Serve as the primary technical-commercial interface for key customers, providing combustion expertise, developing trusted relationships, and translating customer challenges into executable business opportunities. Both front‑facing and key member of PB Process & Applications team.


• Identify, develop, and shape aftermarket, revamp, retrofit, upgrade, and new equipment opportunities through direct engagement with regional end users, EPCs, licensors, OEMs, and refinery/petrochemical technical organizations.


• Lead technical solution development by integrating combustion, process, application, operational, and economic considerations to deliver differentiated customer value propositions.


• Provide Process Burner, technical SME support across the APAC region, including burner selection, troubleshooting, feasibility reviews, performance optimization, CFD/test recommendations, and risk assessment.


• Support commercial and account teams throughout the opportunity lifecycle, including site surveys (in support of RCA), RFQ reviews, and technical clarifications.


• Act as the Voice of the Customer (VoC) by gathering market intelligence, competitive insights, operational feedback, and emerging industry needs, and translating them into product, service and innovation initiatives.


• Support project execution and operational success, including process designs clear handovers, technical training, commissioning and warranty troubleshooting, and sharing lessons learned to contribute to knowledge networks.


• Develop strategic technical relationships with key accounts and industry stakeholders, increasing John Zink influence through technical seminars, conferences, committees, and customer training programs.


• Drive capability development and standardization, including training RCAs, sales personnel, application engineers, service teams, and customers while improving tools, design practices, and technical documentation.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

• Fluency in English


• 5 years of experience in the refining, gas, petrochemical, or other related industry


• 30-40% travel, majority within the Asia-Pacific region, with some global travel


• Good interpersonal skills, flexibility, and proactivity.
