Job summary

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in Singapore seeks an AVP, Operational Risk to lead independent review and challenge of APAC operational incidents. You will assess RCA quality, monitor action plan closures, and engage with Branch Heads and control functions to drive timely remediation.

The role also covers framework maintenance, audits, and exploring AI-enabled tools for incident analysis and reporting. Strong English communication and cross-cultural collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Must have degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration or Law or related discipline.
• Diploma in Banking and Finance is an advantage.
• Strong analytical and communication skills required.

Responsibilities

• Independent Review & Challenge of Operational Incidents, ensuring RCA quality and closure of action plans.
• Engage with first-line and second-line stakeholders to drive timely remediation.
• Maintain and review the APAC ORE Framework, risk reporting standards and related controls.
• Identify AI/digital enablement opportunities for incident analysis and reporting.
