Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in Singapore is seeking a senior HR Risk & Compliance professional to lead the APAC HR risk and compliance agenda. You will govern risk frameworks, drive control design, and coordinate remediation efforts across Singapore and the APAC region, partnering with senior HR stakeholders to strengthen risk controls and ensure regulatory adherence.

The role reports to the Executive Director, Head of HR Operations, Change & Risk Management, APAC, and requires 8+

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of experience in HR, HR Risk & Compliance, HR Operations, governance, audit, regulatory compliance, or operational risk management.
• Strong understanding of HR regulatory obligations, preferably within banking or financial services.
• Experience leading regional or cross-country risk or compliance initiatives.
• Excellent written and verbal communication with ability to present complex issues clearly.
• Proven track record in driving continuous improvement and governance enhancements.

Aufgaben

• Manage the APAC HR Risk & Compliance framework, setting direction across risk identification, control design, monitoring, mitigation, reporting, and assurance activities.
• Own and drive the HR risk register and related action plans, ensuring risks are tracked and remediated.
• Provide oversight of governance and compliance assurance across HR, including legal, regulatory, statutory obligations.
• Oversee HR incident management, audit, inspection, and remediation activities across Singapore and APAC.
• Partner with country HR teams, Compliance, Legal, Risk and Internal Audit to ensure consistent practices across APAC.
