Job summary

Red Hat seeks an Executive Director-level leader to head the APAC AI COE in Singapore. You will oversee a high-performance R&D squad and serve as the top liaison to government bodies, guiding open-source governance and strategic partnerships with regional semiconductor partners.

You will drive upstream R&D efforts, translate complex cloud architectures for C-suite clients, and align pre-sales, services, and delivery with business goals. Strong governance and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field. MBA or business strategy cert is a differentiator.
• 12+ years of progressive software engineering, system architecture, or technical R&D leadership, with 5+ years in an executive-level strategic role.
• Experience interfacing with government investment/economic development agencies and managing grants/compliance.
• Open-source leadership or contribution to open-source communities is highly valued.
• Executive communication: English fluency; ability to translate technical concepts for C-suite and government officials.

Responsibilities

• Executive representation to government bodies and external stakeholders (EDB, IMDA, etc.).
• Upstream R&D governance and delivery, with 70% upstreaming target into open-source projects.
• Lead Singapore technical squad including architects, AI/ML engineers, and PMs; foster open-source contribution.
• Strategic customer-facing delivery and pre-sales alignment; advise executives on hybrid cloud architectures.
