Job summary

Red Hat seeks a Director for APAC AI COE to lead a Singapore-based R&D team, acting as the executive architect and liaison to the EDB and government bodies. You will steer open-source governance and align regional AI initiatives with national guidelines.

You will govern the COE's R&D lifecycle, drive upstream contributions to OSS, and oversee Forward-Deployed Engineers and senior architects for strategic APAC engagements.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field; MBA is a strong differentiator.
• Experience: 12+ years in software engineering, system architecture, or R&D leadership; 5+ years in an executive strategic role.
• Open-source leadership: demonstrated contributions or leadership in open-source communities.
• Executive communication: strong English communications to C-level execs and officials.

Responsibilities

• Executive Representation & Ecosystem Alignment: liaise with Singapore EDB and government stakeholders; align COE initiatives with national AI guidelines.
• R&D Engine Governance & Upstream Delivery: drive upstreaming software primitives into open-source projects; oversee FDEs and architecture delivery.
• Multi-Disciplinary Squad Leadership & COE Management: lead Singapore technical squad; foster open-source contributions and governance; manage budgets and agile prototyping cycles.
• Strategic Customer-Facing Delivery & Pre-Sales Alignment: advise C-level clients; align COE R&D with pre-sales and services for scalable platform adoption.
