Job summary

You will collaborate with Data Warehouse/Engineering to define datasets and semantic models, enable self-service analytics, mentor junior analysts, and communicate findings to executives.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years in BI/analytics/reporting within banking or payments.
• Ability to define the problem, analyze the data, build the output, and deliver the narrative independently.
• Expert SQL proficiency and strong data modeling skills.
• Proficient in BI/visualization tools and semantic layer concepts.
• Strong English communication; Mandarin a plus.

Job description

We are looking for a Senior BI Specialist — a senior individual-contributor role that turns the bank's data into clear, trusted, and actionable insights, and helps build the trusted reporting capability that scales with the bank.You will deliver deep analytical work on real, open business problems across the bank; you shape how metrics, reports, and dashboards are built; and as the team grows, you play a role in elevating the quality of analytical talent around you.

Job ResponsibilitiesAnalysis & Insight

• Translate stakeholder business questions and operational challenges into structured analytical problems, frameworks, and decision-ready deliverables.
• Lead deep-dive, exploratory analyses across the bank's core business — performance, customer and account behavior, channel funnels, cross-border payment flows — to surface opportunities, risks, and inefficiencies.
• Support management performance discussions through trend interpretation, variance analysis, and structured business review materials.

Reporting & Semantic Layer

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and executive reports — accurate, intuitive, and easy to consume by definition.
• Work closely with the Data Warehouse / Data Engineering team to help shape the datasets and semantic models underpinning use cases, and contribute to the unification of the bank's metric definitions.
• Enable self-service analytics for stakeholders, growing trust in reporting output across the organization.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Act as a trusted analytics partner to product, risk, finance, and operations: run efficient discovery, manage expectations, and present results clearly to audiences from analysts to executives.
• Own the alignment and standardization of metrics across teams — reconcile cross-functional definitions, drive consistency toward a single source of truth, and establish clear metric ownership so every function speaks the same language.

• Minimum 8 years in BI / analytics / reporting, with a strong background in banking, financial services, or payments — you understand business logic, not just tools.
• Ability to work end-to-end independently: define the problem, analyze the data, build the output, and deliver the narrative — without step-by-step direction.
• Expert-level SQL; solid proficiency in mainstream BI/visualization tools; strong grasp of data modeling and the semantic/metric layer.
• Strong stakeholder management: requirement discovery, expectation alignment, and compelling presentations to senior audiences.
• Maturity to mentor junior analysts and raise the quality of their work.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English. Mandarin is a plus given our regional business.
• Experience in a digital bank, neobank, or fintech environment; experience building/scaling analytics as the business evolves.
• Experience with enterprise cloud data warehousing; familiarity with Alibaba Cloud DataWorks / MaxCompute as a warehouse and platform layer is a plus.
• Experience operating across regional, multicultural businesses
