Maybank Securities, a leading brokerage and investment bank with a regional reach, invites a talented investment banking professional to join the Digital Economy, Energy & Mining team, covering debt, equity financing, M&A, leverage finance and advisory services.

You will prepare client materials, manage transaction execution, and build valuation analyses while conducting market research to support engagements and business development.

Qualifications

• Outstanding academic record with degree in Accountancy, Banking and Finance from a premier university.
• Experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, or related fields at top firms is expected.
• Strong quantitative and technical abilities with finance modelling skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and present materials used in client meetings on M&A, capital raising and financing activity.
• Lead transaction execution from pitch to close; oversee due diligence and document drafting.
• Build and edit financial models and valuation analyses (DCF, comps, precedent).
• Conduct industry and market research to support client engagements and business development.
• Interface with clients on strategic reviews, funding options, and market conditions.

These include corporate finance & advisory, navigating debt and equity capital markets, derivatives trading, brokerage and research for both retail and institutional investors, and prime brokerage.

The selected candidate will be part of our regional investment banking & advisory team which assists corporate clients in meeting their strategic and financial objectives. The candidate will work as part of the Digital Economy, Energy & Mining team across products including, public and private debt, equity financing, mergers and acquisitions, leverage finance and financial advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and present materials used in client meetings, covering topics such as strategic alternatives, mergers & acquisitions (M&A), capital raising and financing activity
• Transaction execution management, from the pitch phase through to closing; and lead work streams such as due diligence, document drafting, financial analysis, valuation, transaction documentation and stakeholder management
• Build, review and edit financial models and prepare supporting valuation analysis, including discounted cash flow, trading comparable and precedent transaction analyses
• Conduct industry, company and market research to support client engagements, transaction execution and business development initiatives
• Interface with clients on a range of topics Interface with clients on a range of topics including strategic reviews, capital structure optimisation, funding alternatives and prevailing equity and debt market conditions

Key Requirements

• Outstanding academic record with degree in Accountancy, Banking and Finance from a premier university
• At least 2-3 years of relevant working experience in investment banking, M&A advisory, corporate finance, project finance, capital markets, private equity, infrastructure investing or any relevant strategic finance experience gained at an investment bank, advisory firm, financial institution, private equity fund or corporate
• Candidates with relevant experience in corporate development, strategic finance, investment evaluation or business development roles within the data centre, power, renewable energy, utilities and infrastructure sectors are encouraged to apply and will be strongly considered
• Strong quantitative and technical abilities
• High degree of proficiency in corporate finance and financial modelling
