Job summary

Monks is seeking a strategist with an AI-first mindset to shape integrated strategies across Southeast Asia. You will connect brand, creative & content, media and data into compelling narratives and client briefs, driving growth and new business opportunities.

You’ll orchestrate cross-functional teams, map customer journeys, and develop repeatable frameworks to elevate the strategy capability for the AI economy. Hands-on and collaborative, you’ll contribute to pitches and thought leadership.

Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in strategy, planning or related roles across digital, social, creative, media, integrated agency or consultancy environments.
• Strong foundations in brand and customer strategy, combined with contemporary digital, social, media and data thinking.
• An AI-first mindset, with hands-on experience using AI within the strategic process and genuine curiosity about how technology is changing consumers, brands and marketing.
• The ability to connect brand, creative & content, media and data into a single strategic narrative.
• Strong customer and commercial instincts, with the ability to spot opportunities beyond the immediate brief.
• Experience leading or contributing to pitches and new business, with an ability to find the central idea and build a compelling story under pressure.
• A builder mentality, interested in creating frameworks, tools and repeatable approaches, not simply delivering individual strategy projects.
• An excellent storyteller, facilitator and presenter who can simplify complexity, articulate a clear point of view and influence teams without direct authority.
• Collaborative, intellectually curious and comfortable operating in ambiguity across Southeast Asia.

Responsibilities

• Lead integrated strategies spanning brand, creative & content, media and data. Translate complex business and marketing challenges into clear strategic frameworks, customer journeys, propositions and briefs that teams can execute against.
• Bring AI into both what we recommend and how we work. Use AI across research, insight generation, audience understanding, ideation and strategic development.
• Act as the strategic connective tissue across our capabilities. Bring specialists together around a shared understanding of the customer, the problem and the opportunity.
• Understand our clients' brands, customers, categories and competitive environments deeply. Look beyond the immediate brief to identify unmet needs, emerging behaviours and opportunities clients may not yet see.
• Lead strategic thinking for integrated pitches across Southeast Asia. Find the strategic unlock, simplify complexity and build compelling narratives that demonstrate the value of an integrated Monks offering.
• Help build and productise Integrated Strategy for Southeast Asia. Develop repeatable frameworks, methodologies, prompts and tools that improve the consistency, speed and quality of our strategic work.
