Job summary

Changi Airport Group is seeking a strategic leader to head its AI engineering capability. You will drive strategy, architecture, delivery, and operations for AI-powered products and platforms across commercial and airport ops domains.

Qualifications

10+ years of experience in software engineering, solution architecture, platform engineering, or related tech roles; at least 5 years leading engineering teams.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/SE/IS/Data Science or related field; postgraduate qualification advantageous.
Strong foundation in modern software engineering and distributed systems, with Python and a working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript, APIs, databases, and web apps.
Substantial AWS experience designing and operating secure, scalable solutions with common AWS services.
Experience delivering production-grade generative AI solutions and lifecycle management.
Knowledge of CI/CD, IaC (AWS CDK or Terraform), automated testing, and secure software supply chains.
Ability to translate strategy into roadmaps, estimate effort, manage budgets and vendors, and communicate with senior leaders.

Responsibilities

Partner with product owners and engineers to translate business challenges into scalable AI-powered products and services.
Define architecture principles, standards, and reusable capabilities for AI-native products.
Oversee architecture of AI-enabled solutions integrating LLMs, AI agents, SaaS, and cloud services; plan delivery timelines.
Lead a multidisciplinary team including offshore resources to build, operate, and improve AI-powered applications.
Ensure production readiness with guardrails, monitoring, tests, and runbooks.
Establish observability and incident-management practices for reliable services.
Govern AI lifecycle including prompts, retrieval pipelines, agents, and evaluation.
Provide hands-on technical leadership on complex issues and root-cause analysis.
Recruit, mentor, and develop engineers and project managers; foster collaboration across in-house and offshore teams.
Champion responsible use of AI tools to improve productivity and software quality.
Promote culture of experimentation, knowledge sharing, and scalable tooling across the developer community.
Provide technology thought leadership and guide the organization beyond hype.
Plan annual workplans, budgets, and manage offshore partners and vendors.
Define measurable business outcomes and track adoption and benefits from AI initiatives.
