Job summary

NTU Singapore's School of Materials Science and Engineering seeks a Research Fellow to develop and establish robotic and autonomous laboratory workflows for accelerated materials discovery and battery research. Qualifications

• PhD in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in battery materials, electrochemistry, or materials synthesis.
• Experience with robotic systems or autonomous laboratory development.
• Demonstrated scientific productivity through peer‑reviewed publications.
• Strong hands‑on experimental and problem‑solving skills; ability to troubleshoot automated workflows.
• Good communication and teamwork in a multidisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Support development and operation of autonomous laboratory platforms for materials discovery.
• Conduct automated materials synthesis, characterization, electrochemical testing, and data analysis for battery systems.
• Participate in project planning, data collection, and analysis to ensure reproducible results.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication and contribute to grant proposals.
• Report progress in group and individual meetings.
• Contribute to technology development and translational research opportunities.
