Job summary

SGX is hiring Technical Product Owners for the Data & AI domain to drive initiatives from problem definition to production outcomes with an evidence-based approach. You will partner with the Business Owner to translate user problems into measurable product outcomes by shaping scope, providing clarity to engineering teams, making trade-offs, and driving decisions rather than escalating issues.

You won't write production code, but you will be technical enough to challenge engineering decisions,

Qualifications

• Experience: 10+ years in product management, ownership, business analysis or engineering roles with significant product responsibility.
• Leadership: Proven track record of leading and managing large, complex products and teams.
• Domain expertise: Capital markets infrastructure or broader financial services experience is valued.
• Technical fluency: Ability to read code, reason about APIs and data flows, evaluate technical trade-offs.
• AI-native ways of working: Real, hands-on experience using AI agents to prototype, specify, and validate.
• Strong product instinct: Sharp problem framing, data-driven decisions, ambiguity tolerance.
• Strong communicator: Able to influence and collaborate across business and technology and across seniority levels.
• Builder mindset: Comfortable maturing product and SDLC practices and adopting new ways of working.
• Comfort with complexity: Experience shipping in regulated, multi-stakeholder environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Develop a deep understanding of the products in your domain (features, user experience, technical architecture, data flows) and contribute to the long-term technology roadmap of the product domain.
• Define, with the Business Owner and your team, the north-star metric and KPIs guiding product iteration, and partner with engineering and data teams to ensure these metrics are observable.
• Produce artefacts that engineering or vendors need to act on (requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, AI-assisted specs) by partnering with stakeholders to understand underlying business opportunities.
• Co-own the product roadmap with the Business Owner, aligned with company goals, member needs, regulatory context, and other products within and across domains.
• Prioritise features and enhancements based on evidence of user impact, business value, regulatory requirements and technical feasibility.
• Work with software vendors to shape their roadmap to support SGX’s ambitions.
• Communicate product direction, metrics, and progress to internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
• Build consensus and manage expectations around priorities, trade-offs and uncertainty in product work.
• Support your team in complex stakeholder settings.
• Use AI agents to accelerate discovery, prototyping, and specification before engineering time.
• Drive continuous discovery through member interviews, prototypes as tests, and usage data analysis.
• Make trade-offs explicit and drive decisions around scope vs timeline, build vs buy, quick win vs durable fix.
• Challenge the status quo and help shape product practice and SDLC improvements across engineering and product organizations.
• Create, lead, and manage a high-performing team of Technical Product Owners and UX Designers.
• Elevate the team’s productivity by understanding market, customer demands and platform capabilities.
• Develop and execute the strategic vision for SGX’s products within your domain and share with the team.
• Ensure resiliency and stability for SGX’s systems, especially CIIs.
• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
