Job summary

Avient Corporation in Singapore seeks a skilled materials development engineer to interface with customers and internal teams to plan and develop new products based on market requirements and company objectives.

The role involves formulating compounds to meet mechanical and electrical properties, conducting material testing, troubleshooting technical problems, and collaborating with QC and Production during trials and scaling. Knowledge of lab documentation and testing procedures is essential.

Responsibilities

• Interface with internal and external customers and stakeholders to plan and develop new products based on customer/market requirements and company objectives
• Formulate compounds to meet customers’ requirements with respect to mechanical properties, electrical properties, flame resistance, weather resistance, aesthetic appearance, etc.
• Conduct necessary material testing and evaluation to support product development
• Troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical problems, and provide technical guidance and support throughout the product lifecycle
• Explore new technologies and raw materials that can enhance product offerings to fulfill customer needs
• Create and maintain documentation including testing reports, and work instruction procedures for laboratory equipment
• Collaborate with QC and Production teams to support manufacturing trials, product scaling, and quality control processes
