Job summary

Omni-Plus System Limited is seeking a Laboratory Technician to perform routine tests on polymer materials and molded specimens. You will operate lab equipment, prepare samples, and ensure traceability of results in accordance with standards.

The role requires a Diploma/Certificate in Science or Engineering and 2 years of polymer testing experience, with fresh graduates considered if training is provided. It offers on-site work in Singapore and opportunities for collaboration with R&D and QA

Qualifications

• Fresh graduates with relevant laboratory training may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine physical, mechanical, thermal, chemical, and processing-related tests on polymer materials and molded specimens.
• Operate laboratory equipment according to approved test methods, work instructions, and relevant standards.
• Perform sample preparation and conditioning according to applicable test standards.
• Ensure samples are correctly identified, labelled, stored, and traceable.
• Record test results accurately in laboratory records and relevant databases.
• Prepare test reports and analysis summaries as required.
• Highlight abnormal results or deviations to the Laboratory/R&D Manager.
• Maintain proper traceability of samples and test results.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct routine physical, mechanical, thermal, chemical, and processing-related tests on polymer materials and molded specimens.
• Operate laboratory equipment according to approved test methods, work instructions, and relevant standards.
• Perform sample preparation and sample conditioning according to applicable test standards.
• Ensure samples are correctly identified, labelled, stored, and traceable.
• Support raw material & finished product evaluation to facilitate product development.
• Record test results accurately in laboratory records and relevant databases.
• Prepare test reports and analysis summaries as required.
• Highlight abnormal results, deviations, or unusual material behaviour to the Laboratory/R&D Manager.
• Maintain proper traceability of samples and test results.
• Operate laboratory instruments safely and correctly.
• Perform routine equipment checks, cleaning, and basic maintenance.
• Report equipment malfunction or abnormal performance promptly.
• Follow laboratory procedures, ISO requirements, test standards, and internal quality procedures.
• Maintain good laboratory housekeeping and 5S practices.
• Handle chemicals, polymer materials, and laboratory equipment safely.
• Follow applicable EHS and waste-disposal requirements.
• Provide testing support to R&D, Production, Quality, and Technical Service teams.
• Support preparation of samples and test data for customer technical investigations.
• Provide operational training to interns and related personnel.
• Any other responsibilities as and when assign by your superior due to changes in organization or business direction.

Technical Competencies

• Diploma / Certificate in Science or Engineering
• 2 years working experience in polymeric material testing
• Fresh graduate with relevant laboratory training may be considered

• Ability to work independently in laboratory with minimum supervision
• Able to follow test procedures and work instructions consistently
• Good laboratory housekeeping and safety awareness
