Job summary

NEXTAIR ENGINEERING & CONSTRUCTION PTE. LTD. is seeking a Mechanical Estimator in Singapore to support ACMV/M&E projects.

You will study tender docs, perform quantity take-offs, and prepare cost estimates for new, A&A and maintenance works. The role requires a degree in mechanical engineering and at least 3 years of estimation experience in ACMV/M&E, with strong MS Excel skills and knowledge of relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• At least 3 years of estimation experience in ACMV/M&E in Singapore.
• Knowledge of ACMV systems: chillers, AHUs, FCUs, VRV/VRF, ductwork, piping, ventilation.
• Able to read and interpret ACMV drawings and specifications.
• Familiar with SS 553, SCDF fire code requirements, and BCA/PUB regulations (advantage).
• Proficient in MS Excel; AutoCAD or take-off software experience is an advantage.
• Good communication skills and attention to detail.
• Able to handle several tenders and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Study tender documents, drawings, specifications, and BQs for ACMV projects.
• Carry out quantity take-offs for ductwork, piping, insulation, equipment, electrical, and BMS works.
• Prepare cost estimates, tender submissions, and quotations for new projects, A&A works, and maintenance jobs.
• Get quotations from suppliers and subcontractors, and compare them for price, technical compliance, and scope.
• Prepare and update Schedules of Rates (SOR) and unit rate breakdowns.
• Do site surveys to check existing conditions and confirm scope before quoting.
• Raise tender clarifications, exclusions, and assumptions.
• Prepare variation order (VO) costings during project execution.
• Work with project, design, and procurement teams to make sure estimates are accurate and competitive.
• Keep a cost database of material prices, labor rates, and supplier pricing.
• Track quotation status and follow up with clients on submitted tenders.
