Job summary

Michael Page International is recruiting for a Senior Finance Controller role within a maritime and fleet management group. The position covers reporting, consolidation and controls across multiple entities, offering exposure to month-end processes and group reporting.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Accountancy or Finance, professional qualifications (CA/CPA/ACCA), and at least 8 years of relevant experience including Big 4 audits.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of accounting, reporting and consolidation experience.
• Degree in Accountancy, Finance or related discipline.
• CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent preferred.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial reporting standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing activities for assigned entities.
• Review full sets of accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries and supporting schedules.
• Prepare and review group consolidation, consolidation adjustments and consolidated financial reporting.
• Analyse financial results, investigate variances and resolve accounting discrepancies.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, statutory requirements and Group accounting policies.
• Coordinate with external accounting service providers and review reporting deliverables.
• Support management reporting requirements and drive timely completion of reporting cycles.

Education

Degree in Accountancy/Finance

CA/CPA/ACCA or equivalent

Audit experience (Big 4 preferred)

Strong analytical / stakeholder management

Independent working, hands-on operations

The Successful Applicant

• Strong technical accounting knowledge and understanding of financial reporting standards
• Ability to work independently within a hands-on and operational environment
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills
• Prior team leadership or supervisory experience would be advantageous
• Interest in taking on future people management responsibilities
