Job summary

GREY TREE PTE. LTD. is seeking an Accountant to join its Singapore finance team, handling day-to-day accounting from supplier invoices to month-end reporting, and acting as the go-to finance contact for trading, operations and risk teams.

You will work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment, with SAP ERP experience and strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, contributing to budgets, journals, audits, and system upgrades.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of accounting experience with a degree in accounting or finance, or a professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CA or equivalent).
• Sound knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting.
• Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis) and confidence presenting in PowerPoint.
• Hands-on experience with an ERP system, ideally SAP.
• Clear written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain numbers to non-finance colleagues.
• Organised, detail-focused and able to run several deadlines at once.
• Self-driven, comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, multicultural team.

Responsibilities

• Handling day-to-day accounting, including supplier invoice processing and payments
• Preparing and posting journals across the monthly, quarterly and year-end cycles
• Reconciling balances with group entities and external suppliers, and chasing down differences
• Answering accounting queries from trade operations, risk and other internal teams
• Building budgets and forecasts, tracking them against monthly results by commodity, and producing management reports
• Compiling and reviewing financial statements, including the quarterly reporting pack for the parent group
• Supporting the yearly audit and statutory accounts
• Contributing finance input to system upgrades and rollouts, including user testing
• Picking up ad hoc finance projects as they arise
