Job summary

Pei Hwa Secondary School in Singapore seeks a facilities/operations staff to maintain classrooms, offices and common areas. The role covers multiple shifts, unlock/lock duties, and occasional Saturday coverage. Training will be provided for alarm resets and safety checks. Candidates should have PSLE qualifications and English fluency.

Contract period 2027, with an option for 2028, and duties as directed by the Operations Manager or Administration Manager.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Clean classrooms, special rooms, staff rooms, common areas and the General Office.
• Set up and clear furniture and equipment for school activities.
• Unlock and lock doors, windows and shutters; carry out facilities checks, escort contractors, and report faults.
• Arm and disarm security alarms; close gates and roller shutters and switch off lights, fans and air-conditioning when closing the school.
• Reset fire alarms and electrical circuit breakers after training.
• Assist with general science laboratory cleaning, apparatus cleaning and simple material preparation.
• Perform other duties assigned by school leaders, the Operations Manager or Administration Manager.

Name of Authority: Pei Hwa Secondary School

Contract Period: 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2027.

Option period: 1 January 2028 to 31 December 2028.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Mondays to Fridays: 6:45am to 3:45pm, inclusive of a one-hour lunch break.
• Cover the second shift, 9:30am to 6:30pm, inclusive of a one-hour lunch break, when required.
• Saturdays: 7:00am to 1:00pm, at most once a month, with equivalent time off.
• Service not required on Sundays and gazetted public holidays.

Requirements:

• PSLE qualification, at least one year of school operations experience, and ability to understand and converse in English are preferred.
• Ability to carry out the assigned operational duties safely across a four-storey school building without a lift.

Job Scopes:

The Services required are set out as follows:

1. Clean classrooms, special rooms, staff rooms, common areas and the General Office.
2. Set up and clear furniture and equipment for school activities.
3. Unlock and lock doors, windows and shutters; carry out facilities checks, escort contractors including pest-control vendors, and report faults.
4. Arm and disarm security alarms; close gates and roller shutters and switch off lights, fans and air-conditioning when closing the school.
5. Reset fire alarms and electrical circuit breakers after receiving in-house training.
6. Assist with general science laboratory cleaning, apparatus cleaning and simple material preparation.
