Job description

We are looking for a skilled VMware Operations Engineer to join our infrastructure team in Sweden. In this hybrid role, you will be responsible for the design, deployment, and day-to-day operations of our VMware-based virtualisation environments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure high availability, performance, and security across our virtualised infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and optimise VMware vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, and NSX environments
• Monitor infrastructure performance, troubleshoot incidents, and drive root cause analysis
• Manage capacity planning, patching, and lifecycle management of virtual infrastructure
• Collaborate with network, security, and storage teams to ensure integrated and resilient solutions
• Contribute to automation and Infrastructure-as-Code initiatives (e.g., Ansible, Terraform)
• Support disaster recovery planning and ensure business continuity
• Maintain documentation of architecture, runbooks, and operational procedures
• Participate in on‑call rotation as required

Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of hands‑on experience with VMware vSphere/vCenter/ESXi
• Solid understanding of virtualisation concepts, networking (VLANs, SDN), and storage (SAN/NAS)
• Experience with VMware NSX and vSAN is a strong advantage
• Proficiency in scripting and automation (PowerCLI, Python, or similar)
• Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., vROps, Zabbix, Prometheus)
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Good communication skills in English; Swedish is a plus

Preferred Qualifications

• VMware certifications (VCP-DCV or higher)
• Experience with cloud integration (VMware Cloud on AWS, Azure VMware Solution)
• Background in ITIL or similar service management frameworks
