Job summary

Telia Cygate in Sweden seeks a VMware Technician to design, implement and operate VMware-based solutions in business-critical environments. You will manage VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN and VCF, install and upgrade virtualization platforms, and work with backup, DR and high-availability strategies.

You will collaborate with security, networking and storage teams, contribute to capacity planning, and participate in on-call duties.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of VMware infrastructure experience.
• Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and vSAN.
• Good knowledge of Windows Server, Linux, storage, and networking.
• Good understanding of backup solutions such as Veeam.
• Strong experience with hybrid and cloud environments.
• Certifications within VCP, VCAP, or similar are highly valued.
• Native or near-native Swedish and strong English skills.
• Swedish citizenship is required.
• Independent and proactive in driving technical projects.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement VMware-based solutions in business-critical environments.
• Operate and administrate VMware vSphere, VCF, ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, and VMware Cloud Director.
• Install, upgrade, and optimize virtualization platforms.
• Operate sovereign cloud solutions and monitor performance, capacity, and support capacity planning.
• Work with backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions.
• Contribute to security work and documentation.
• Collaborate closely with other teams and provide technical guidance internally and externally.
• Support change management and follow ITSM processes.
• Participate in on-call and standby duties.
