Job summary

ANIMARUM is seeking a Systems Engineer to join our foundational infra team that manages physical servers, OS, virtualization, distributed storage, networking and cluster orchestration.

You will analyze, tune and improve core platform components with focus on Linux, virtualization, infrastructure performance and software-defined networking to support high-performance workloads.

Qualifications

Job description

We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join a team responsible for the foundational infrastructure of a large-scale cloud platform. The team manages the technology stack across physical servers, operating systems, virtualization, distributed storage, networking, and cluster orchestration.

In this role, you will analyze, tune, and improve core platform components, with a particular focus on Linux, virtualization, infrastructure performance, and software-defined networking. Your work will help ensure that the platform can reliably support demanding, high-performance workloads.

Key Responsibilities

• Performance optimization: Benchmark, tune, and optimize infrastructure components such as load-balancing services, virtualization technologies, and Linux networking to improve throughput and reduce latency.
• Hardware integration: Support the introduction and configuration of new hardware while ensuring efficient use of compute and network resources.
• Advanced troubleshooting: Investigate complex issues involving Linux internals, hardware interfaces, virtualization, and network stacks, and implement appropriate corrective actions.
• Automation and reliability: Improve automation and operational tooling used to monitor infrastructure, detect problems, and resolve faults throughout the platform lifecycle.
• Technical collaboration: Work closely with infrastructure, hardware, and networking specialists to align system configurations with the underlying compute and network environment.

Required Experience

• Strong practical knowledge of Linux internals, system-level performance optimization, and physical server environments.
• Experience benchmarking and optimizing distributed infrastructure for high throughput and low latency.
• Proficiency in developing reliable system-level software or automation using languages such as Go, Python, C, or C++.
• Demonstrated ability to diagnose complex performance bottlenecks across operating systems, virtualization layers, hardware, and network stacks.
