DevOps/Platform Engineer – Technology Frameworks
We are building the foundational infrastructure and platform services that power the next generation of Sectra’s medical imaging and healthcare solutions. This role is for a software/DevOps engineer who thrives on learning, adapts quickly to new challenges, and cares deeply about building reliable, secure, and scalable systems that enable all our product teams to deliver better solutions for healthcare.
What You Will Do
- Design, build, and maintain high‑quality platform services and infrastructure used across all Sectra product areas
- Apply AI tools (e.g., code assistants, code generators) responsibly to increase velocity without compromising quality, security, or cost
- Collaborate with product teams, architects, and end‑users to translate infrastructure requirements into robust, scalable solutions
- Own features end‑to‑end: design, implementation, testing, observability, documentation, and deployment
- Implement and uphold strong engineering practices: CI/CD, automated testing, code reviews, performance profiling, reliability standards
- Work with modern distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, and observability patterns (metrics, logging, tracing, SRE practices)
- Administer and optimize Linux‑based infrastructure, including system configuration, performance tuning, scripting and troubleshooting
- Continuously learn: evaluate new tools, frameworks, and AI capabilities; share knowledge across the team and the broader organization
Core Abilities
- Strong computer science fundamentals: data structures/algorithms, concurrency, networking, API design, distributed systems, software architecture
- Strong Linux systems expertise: command‑line proficiency, shell scripting (Bash), system administration, networking, process management, and troubleshooting in production environments
- Proficiency in one or more languages used for high‑performance backend and infrastructure development (e.g., C#, TypeScript, C++, Go) and modern tooling
- Experience with cloud services, containers, and CI/CD (AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, or serverless)
- Reliability and observability mindset: automated testing, monitoring (metrics/logs/traces), performance awareness, and SRE practices
- Security and privacy literacy (secure coding, handling sensitive data, infrastructure security)
- Curiosity and learning agility; ability to adapt to new domains, tools, and AI workflows
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, cross‑functional approach
- Humor and strong academic record from university and upper secondary school; please include transcripts or grade summaries in your application
Nice to Have
- Experience building platform or infrastructure services that support multiple downstream consumers
- Strong foundation in system design, scalability, and cost optimization (FinOps)
- Advanced Linux expertise: kernel tuning, security hardening, configuration management tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef), or experience with multiple Linux distributions
- Experience with logging systems, monitoring platforms, or observability infrastructure
- Familiarity with healthcare IT standards and constraints (compliance, data handling, interoperability)
- Frontend experience that complements backend work, or infrastructure tooling/dashboards
- Passion for hobbies such as sports, music, creative arts, outdoor living or board gaming
- Experience of software development in agile technologies
- Fluency in more languages than Swedish and English
- Enjoy working independently, preferring focused development over unnecessary meetings
Additional Requirements
- Have a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree within engineering, IT or similar with a strong academic record
- Have a strong interest in technology and software development
- Be a team player eager to collaborate with your team members on daily development and operation tasks
- Be fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and written
- Value customer contact and thrive in a fast‑paced technological environment
What We Offer
- Mission‑driven work in a domain that matters – the infrastructure underpinning healthcare innovation
- Time and budget for learning and professional development
- An engineering culture that values quality, reliability, security, and impact
- Collaborative, cross‑functional teams with mentorship and growth paths
- Exposure to modern infrastructure challenges at the scale that healthcare demands
Why this role is more than a job
Your work will have a direct impact on every product team at Sectra and the clinicians and patients they serve. By building reliable, performant, and secure platform services, you enable our healthcare solutions to scale, adapt, and ultimately improve diagnostics and care. If you’re motivated by the responsibility of building the backbone that others depend on, and you believe that great engineering done with care and precision matters, you’ll feel at home here.
Depending on the role, a mandatory background security screening might be performed as part of the recruitment process at Sectra.
