Job summary

Tata Technologies Ltd. in Gothenburg, Sweden, is recruiting for System Engineers to join our team.

This role focuses on requirement engineering and high-level software engineering for automotive steering systems. You will elicit and document requirements, govern the requirement structure across HW/SW/testing and collaborate with vehicle function owners and verification teams to ensure traceability and successful software releases.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Automotive SW/Systems development (SYS.1/SYS.2/SYS.3).
• Extensive experience in automotive system engineering, preferably Steering System within OEM or Tier 1 environment.
• Hands-on experience with requirement management tools (CarWeaver, DOORS, Polarion, Elektra, System Weaver).
• Experience in vehicle communication protocols (CAN, CANFD, LIN, Ethernet).
• Strong analytical and documentation skills; ability to communicate complex technical content.
• Basic understanding of ISO26262 functional safety; good knowledge of diagnostics.
• Experience with HW, System, SW developments and automotive electronics.

Responsibilities

• Own elicitation and documentation of requirements from relevant stakeholders for the steering system.
• Maintain and govern the system and component requirement structure in the designated tool, ensuring traceability and version control.
• Ensure alignment and documentation of system requirements with hardware, software, testing, functional safety and supplier teams.
• Collaborate with vehicle function owners to ensure traceability of requirements for software releases.
• Work with verification and validation teams to define and execute V&V plans.
• Provide technical guidance and own troubleshooting for system-level issues.

Scope of Role

This is a technical role to perform Requirement engineering and high-level Software engineering activities.

Roles and responsibilities

• Own the elicitation and documentation of requirements from all the relevant stakeholders for the steering system.
• Maintain and govern the System and component requirement structure within the designated Requirement Management Tool (e.g. CarWeaver), ensuring traceability and version control.
• Ensure proper alignment & documentation of System requirements and design assumptions with all relevant stakeholders, including hardware, software, testing, functional safety and supplier teams.
• Work closely with Vehicle function owners at an application and platform level and ensure clear traceability of requirement for each planned software release.
• Work closely with the verification and validation teams to define and execute the verification and validation plans.
• Provide Technical guidance and own troubleshooting task related to system level issues.

Knowledge / Experience Essential:

• Should have minimum 8 years of experience in Automotive SW / Systems development (SYS.1/SYS.2/SYS.3).
• Extensive experience in automotive system engineering, preferably within Steering System within OEM or Tier 1 supplier environment.
• Hands-on experience in working with requirement management tools, especially CarWeaver, or similar tools such as DOORS, Polarion, Elektra and System weaver.
• Experience in Vehicle communication protocols such as CAN, CANFD, LIN, Ethernet. Etc
• Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex technical content.
• Basic understanding of functional safety according to ISO26262
• Good understanding of Diagnostic protocols.
• Experience in working with HW, System, SW developments
• Strong knowledge on requirement management tool like Polarion ALM, Doors etc.
• Good understanding on Automotive electronics

Good to have:

• Working with fault tolerant, safe, and secure embedded systems from a software and hardware design perspective would be a valuable experience.
• Knowledge on System architecture tool
• Knowledge of Functional Safety ISO 26262 and automotive cybersecurity ISO/SAE 21434 principles
• Familiarity with ASPICE processes and compliance in system development workflows.
• Exposure to Project Life Cycle Management tools and Software development tools like Jenkins, Git/Gerrit, JIRA, or similar tools.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in electrical, electronics, computer or other appropriate engineering discipline.
