McDermott is seeking a Senior Cost Controls Specialist to advance the costing discipline across projects. The role serves as a resource for less experienced colleagues and shares expert knowledge on cost control best practices. You will tackle complex problems and influence customer, operational, and service outcomes.

The position emphasizes setting up controls, forecasting, and change management, with a focus on cost accuracy and timely reporting within a global, project-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, Construction Management, or related fields.
• 7-10 years of experience in a similar role.
• Proficient with MS Office.
• Problem-solving attitude and high level of coordination skills.
• Ability to understand the project scope, schedule, and its relationship to cost and progress.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in prioritizing multiple tasks, and working with others in a multifunctional team.
• Has good working knowledge and understanding of cost, schedule, estimating, and accounting interfaces.
• A basic understanding of JD Edwards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understands constructability concepts, workflow processes and interdependencies between Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction.
• Set up and implement project controls systems and reports.
• Adheres to McDermott's internal project controls processes.
• Analyze and interpret cost forecasting and trending; identify variances.
• Lead change management efforts, including building cost estimates and managing contract amendments.
• Prepare Project Forecast monthly and assist finance with cash flows and cost spread.
• Support Subcontract Management in verification of progress and earned value against invoices.
• Monitor cost coding system to ensure accurate information flow.
