Job summary

McDermott International, Ltd is seeking a senior field QC inspector to oversee instrumentation and control-system installation, testing and completion on complex EPC/EPCM projects. You will ensure conformity with approved drawings, ITPs, hazardous-area requirements and international standards while coordinating with construction teams.

You will lead field inspections, witness hold points, raise NCRs/QOCs and document results with quality records, ensuring traceability and timely turnover.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or technical diploma in Instrumentation, Electrical, Automation or a closely related discipline.
• 7+ years relevant instrumentation QC/inspection experience on large EPC/EPCM projects.
• Senior field capability across construction, pre-commissioning and commissioning interfaces.
• Experience in multidisciplinary facilities (process, energy, hydrogen, petrochemical preferred).
• ATEX / hazardous-area competence mandatory: CompEx or IECEx CP/valid equivalent; IEC/EN 60079 knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Inspect instrumentation installation, tubing, hook‑up and supports.
• Inspect field instruments, control valves and analyzers.
• Perform calibration, loop checks, functional tests and commissioning interfaces.
• Inspect Ex installations and verify equipment marking and protection concepts.
• Raise NCRs/QOCs and follow up corrective actions.
• Review contractor records and contribute to quality reporting and handover readiness.
• Participate in Kick‑Off and Pre‑Inspection meetings and QC reviews.
