Job summary

Alstom in Sweden is seeking a Buyer to manage sourcing and supplier relationships in a fast-paced transportation procurement environment, supporting cross-functional teams across engineering, finance, and project management.

You will lead RFQs, negotiate contracts, and contribute to global procurement strategies while ensuring compliance with ethics and sustainability requirements. This role is based in Västerås or Stockholm.

Qualifications

• Degree in purchasing, engineering, project management, finance, business administration, or equivalent.
• Experience or understanding of procurement, project management, and supplier relationship management.
• Knowledge of SAP (preferred) and MS Office.
• Familiarity with railway industry practices and Alstom products is an asset.
• Adaptability and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete sourcing cycle from supplier identification through contract award and supplier performance management.
• Lead RFQs, commercial negotiations, cost optimization initiatives, and supplier selection in accordance with Alstom sourcing processes.
• Support commodity strategy deployment and contribute to supplier panel development.
• Ensure compliance with Procurement, Ethics & Compliance, Sustainability, Quality, and EHS requirements.
• Own supplier relationships for assigned commodities and suppliers.
• Negotiate and implement Framework Agreements, Specific Agreements, and Purchase Contracts.
