Job summary

Alstom in Västerås seeks a full-time Bid Manager to lead tender campaigns for PowerTrain / Traction components. You will coordinate with Sweden and global teams to deliver high-quality, timely proposals, driving governance and cost control.

You will manage a bid team, improve processes, and handle financial, contractual, and legal aspects. English is required; Swedish is a plus. A dynamic, collaborative environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Project/Bid Management background, particularly in costing, planning, and risk management.
• Knowledge of ALSTOM processes, including Golden Rules and E&C compliance.
• Basic knowledge of offered products and systems.
• Understanding of financial, contractual, and legal aspects to assess impacts on costing.
• Strong team management and collaboration skills under tight deadlines.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and negotiation skills.
• Customer-oriented mindset.
• Fluency in English; Swedish is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead a bid team and ensure all deliverables on time and according to governance.
• Deliver winning proposals and ensure high-quality, cost-effective tenders.
• Collaborate with teams across Sweden and other countries (Traction Engineering, Procurement, Manufacturing, Project Management, QA & Services, Product Management and Competitiveness Management).
• Improve tender processes and enhance collaboration with key stakeholders.
• Manage tenders for PowerTrain / Traction Component Design Site in Västerås.

Your future role

Take on a new challenge and apply your project and bid management expertise in a cutting-edge field. You'll work alongside collaborative and dynamic team mates.

You'll play a key role in delivering winning proposals and ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and timely tender commitments. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business both in Sweden and several countries around the world (including Traction Engineering, Procurement, Manfacturing, Project Management, QA & Services, Product Management and Competitiveness Management). You will be responsible for leading a bid team and ensuring all deliverables on time and according to correct governance process, as needed by either Train Vehicle or 3rd party business.

You'll specifically take care of managing tenders for PowerTrain / Traction Component Design Site in Västerås and you will also be expected to take part in improving the tender processes, but also enhancing collaboration and managing key stakeholders.
