Job summary

Equal IT in Stockholm is seeking a Staff Engineer to anchor the transformation to an agentic AI platform, reporting to the CTO and shaping the architecture, engineering practices, and technical direction for the platform. You will influence across teams and guide the technical roadmap while ensuring reliable, scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Must have extensive hands-on experience building complex platforms or foundational subsystems that other engineers build on.
• Deep experience with type-safe languages such as Go, Rust or Java.
• Current or recent Staff/Principal-level experience, leading through influence.
• Daily use of agentic development workflows beyond AI-assisted coding.
• Production experience building systems with LLM or agentic capabilities.
• Strong communication skills across engineering, leadership and customers.

Responsibilities

• Own core platform architecture and build independent services that work together as a cohesive product.
• Enable extensibility for customers and partners to build on the platform.
• Drive self-serve onboarding and reduce time to value.
• Decide where LLMs add value and where simpler approaches are better.
• Ensure performance, scalability and reliability across complex system areas.
