Job summary

Itron, Inc. is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer who will drive technical engagements with utilities, shaping proposals, and aligning solutions to customer needs. You will lead demonstrations, lab evaluations, and partnerships to showcase how Itron’s grid, AMI, and IoT capabilities deliver measurable value.

The role requires fluent Swedish and English, up to 50% travel, and a passion for advancing smart grid technologies in regulated utility environments.

Qualifications

• Experience in technical sales engineering or similar customer-facing technical role with a strong commercial mindset.
• Strong understanding of grid, distribution operators, Advanced Metering Infrastructure, and enterprise-scale system integration.
• Excellent storytelling, presentation, and demonstration skills; ability to translate complex concepts into customer value.

Responsibilities

• Develop deep understanding of Itron offerings and electricity utility business models to identify revenue opportunities.
• Lead the technical aspects of RFP/RFI responses and support proposal development with clear narratives and architectures.
• Manage lab evaluations and demos to link technical capabilities to customer outcomes.
