Job summary

Polar is hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to design and evolve a fast, resilient platform powering global payments and billing workflows. You will work across core infrastructure, observability, deployment safety and reliability engineering to scale with growing traffic and regulatory demands.

You will collaborate with engineering, risk and legal teams to translate evolving requirements into robust abstractions, while maintaining high velocity and strong platform health.

Qualifications

• Deep systems thinking and handling failure modes in production
• Auditability and regulatory constraints considered from design
• End-to-end ownership from infra to product features
• Strong product judgment balancing speed with correctness
• High-ownership collaboration in small teams

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve platform reliability and uptime to support growth
• Improve scale and performance of distributed services under load
• Embed SRE and DevOps practices with measurable incidents and SLOs/SLIs
• Advance infrastructure as code and deployment safety
• Refine CI/CD, rollout strategies, and safe rollbacks
• Improve observability, logging, metrics and tracing for faster debugging
• Collaborate with product, risk and legal to align requirements with platform health
