What you’ll get to do

• Develop and maintain the deterministic safety analysis case for our cutting‑edge lead‑cooled fast reactor designs.
• Perform simulation and analysis of transient and accident conditions using computer codes such as Bella, Apros and Spectra, as well as fuel performance and/or CFD tools, depending on skills and interest.
• Develop and maintain a transparent and efficient ecosystem of computer codes, plant models, verification & validation cases and all associated documentation.
• Prepare safety analysis reports and technical submittals for regulatory review.
• Stay current with advances in safety methodologies, computer codes, regulatory requirements, and international standards.

The Nuclear Safety & Licensing Engineer sits in the Nuclear Engineering & Safety team within Blykalla, and reports to the manager of Nuclear Engineering & Safety. We are a diverse team that is passionate about our work and our company. Cross‑functional interaction with the fuel performance team will be an important part of your job.

Who you are

• Master’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of experience in deterministic safety analysis for any commercial reactor types.
• Strong understanding of reactor safety principles, defense‑in‑depth, transients and accident phenomenology.
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (SSM, NRC, IAEA, or equivalent) and licensing processes.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and technical writing skills.
• Fluent in English, spoken and written.
• Fluency in Swedish, spoken and written.
