Job summary

Five Nines Sweden AB is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Lead to steer mechanical and plumbing design for mission-critical data center projects. You will manage external consultants, provide technical oversight of HVAC and cooling systems, and ensure compliance with ASHRAE, code, and Uptime standards.

You will lead a multi-discipline design team, coordinate in BIM, and serve as the primary contact for clients and authorities, delivering on time and to budget while maintaining high design

Qualifications

• 10+ years of design/engineering experience.
• Experience directing external design consultants in EPC/design-build environments.
• English fluency required; Swedish speaking is a plus.
• Data center mechanical systems knowledge (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection).

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage external mechanical consultants from concept to as-built.
• Review deliverables and challenge calculations, schematics, drawings and specs.
• Provide senior technical oversight of HVAC and cooling system design for data centers.
• Oversee plumbing, drainage, and fire protection design.
• Ensure designs meet ASHRAE, local codes, and Uptime Tier requirements.
• Lead mechanical/plumbing within multi-discipline design teams via BIM coordination.
• Serve as primary mechanical/plumbing contact for clients and authorities.
