Job summary

Kintec Global Recruitment is seeking an experienced Electrical Safety Specialist to join a major data centre project. You will establish and maintain electrical safety arrangements from mobilisation, ensuring all personnel understand and follow procedures.

You will review drawings, coordinate with commissioning teams, and manage HV/MV switching and testing activities. This role offers strong development within a collaborative, technically focused environment.

Qualifications

• Relevant qualification in Electrical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or equivalent.
• 5+ years in a comparable electrical contracting role.
• Hands-on experience with MV/HV electrical systems, ideally in data centres or similar complex projects.
• S1 level qualification covering voltages or S2 level up to 1,000V.
• Minimum 3 years in electrical testing and verification.
• HV switching certification/tickets.
• Strong focus on EHS, QA and structured work-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain approved electrical safety arrangements from project mobilisation.
• Ensure on-site personnel follow required electrical safety procedures and controls.
• Manage, issue and monitor permits for energised electrical activities.
• Review drawings and specs to identify project-specific electrical requirements.
• Ensure compliance with high-voltage safety requirements.
• Understand and operate electrical protection systems during faults.
• Prepare and maintain isolation and LOTO procedures.
• Review switchgear configuration ahead of energisation and start-up.
• Coordinate with Testing & Commissioning contractors during early-stage reviews.
• Work with SCADA, BMS and EMS vendors to coordinate handover activities per permits.
