Job summary

Safety Bolt is seeking a senior embedded software architect to build the firmware stack for our wireless sensor node. You will design, implement, and own the embedded software on a low-power platform with LoRaWAN and BLE, setting direction for the product.

You will translate signal processing concepts from our data science team into robust firmware, collaborate across hardware and software, and drive the project toward certifications (CE/FCC).

Qualifications

• Strong embedded C/C++ development for microcontrollers, bare-metal and/or RTOS.
• Experience architecting embedded systems end-to-end with firmware ownership.
• Hands-on with BLE and/or LoRa/LoRaWAN wireless protocols.
• Comfortable at the hardware boundary with scopes and analog signal debugging.
• Experience delivering commercial firmware suitable for certifications.
• Independent worker with high ownership and low supervision.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement the embedded firmware architecture for the safety sensor node, from prototype to production-ready.
• Implement on-device signal processing and grow algorithm ownership as product matures.
• Bridge hardware/software: bring up new hardware revisions and debug analog signals.
• Build firmware with a product mindset: testable and aligned with wireless certification path.
• Contribute to system-level decisions across the full sensor stack.
