Job summary

Integro Consulting is seeking a highly experienced Senior Expert in Embedded Software Architecture and Spark-Ignited Internal Combustion Engine (SI ICE) Control for Volvo Trucks in Sweden. The role focuses on advanced control systems for hydrogen engines, model-based development, and automation to accelerate powertrain innovation.

Qualifications

• M.Sc., PhD or equivalent in control engineering, mechatronics, electronics, automation, applied physics, mechanical engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Define scalable embedded software architectures and control concepts for SI ICE applications, especially hydrogen engines.
• Develop and integrate ECU functions for air-path management, torque modelling, combustion control, knock detection and knock control.
• Translate system requirements into control models, software implementations and verified solutions.
• Integrate ECU functions with sensors, actuators, diagnostics, communication interfaces and powertrain platforms.
• Improve software development, code generation, CI, testing and verification workflows.
• Automate calibration processes, measurement-data analysis, test planning and optimisation.
• Explore physics-based AI/ML for modelling, diagnostics and control optimization.
• Support SIL/HIL testing, engine test benches, calibration, and release-readiness assessments.
• Lead design reviews, coordinate engineering activities, and provide technical recommendations.
