Job description

RDT Engineers Sweden AB is looking for an experienced Senior Data Scientist with strong Marketing Mix Modelling (MMM) and econometrics expertise for a long-term assignment.

This is a highly analytical individual-contributor role where you will help establish and shape a robust Marketing Mix Modelling methodology at global scale. You will act as the methodological expert, guiding modelling approaches, validating outputs and ensuring that analytical standards are consistently applied.

The role is particularly suited to someone who has not only built MMM and econometric models hands-on, but who is comfortable challenging modelling assumptions, evaluating methodologies and translating statistical findings into meaningful business insights.

What you will do
  • Co-create the overall analytical and modelling approach for a global MMM programme.
  • Define modelling frameworks, variable structures and analytical methodologies across markets.
  • Build, validate and challenge Marketing Mix Models using advanced econometric and statistical techniques.
  • Evaluate modelling approaches including adstock, diminishing returns, saturation, base vs. incremental decomposition and ROI derivation.
  • Review and quality-assure models and outputs produced by an external modelling partner.
  • Challenge assumptions, methodology and results where required and request analytical improvements.
  • Lead deep-dive analyses across countries, regions, channels and campaigns.
  • Support the development of a structured learning agenda around marketing effectiveness and performance.
  • Work with experimentation and test-and-learn teams to connect incrementality testing with MMM findings.
  • Develop and maintain methodology documentation, analytical standards and decision logs.
  • Help establish consistent definitions and measurement standards for marketing effectiveness and ROI.
  • Collaborate closely with senior stakeholders across Marketing, Finance, Analytics and Business teams.
What we're looking for
Must-have:
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience building and validating Marketing Mix Models / econometric models in a commercial, consulting or agency environment.
  • Strong knowledge of adstock, diminishing returns, saturation, base vs. incremental decomposition and ROI derivation.
  • Advanced applied statistics and econometrics, including regression-based modelling, panel/regional data structures, model diagnostics and validation.
  • Experience with holdout testing, out-of-sample validation and forecast evaluation.
  • Strong Python or R skills for production-grade modelling and simulation.
  • Practical familiarity with Bayesian Marketing Mix Modelling alongside classical regression approaches.
  • Good understanding of media channels and how they behave within MMM, including short- and long-term effects, adstock, channel interactions/synergies and saturation.
  • Ability to explain and defend modelling decisions using evidence and sound statistical reasoning.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
Nice to have
  • Experience from retail, FMCG or another complex multi-market organisation.
  • Experience evaluating or challenging a third-party modelling methodology.
  • Experience in quality assurance or governance of external modelling/analytics vendors.
  • Experience bridging Marketing and Finance on investment, effectiveness or ROI questions.
  • Experience working with global or multi-country datasets and analytical programmes.
Work setup

Remote-first / flexible working arrangement with periodic onsite collaboration.

During the first six months, you should expect approximately 1–2 onsite meetings per month, primarily in Malmö. After the initial period, onsite meetings are expected to reduce to approximately quarterly, with potentially 1–2 additional trips per year.
