Job summary

Amazon’s AWS Infrastructure Services in Sweden is hiring a Senior Data Center Technician to join the Data Center Operations team. You will troubleshoot data center infrastructure, hardware, networking, and power/cooling systems across AWS facilities, ensuring uptime and reliability.

This role requires travel up to 25%, a valid EU driving license, and the ability to lift heavy objects. You will collaborate with global teams, install and maintain equipment, and contribute to SOPs that improve

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fundamentals of hardware, networking, security, databases (relational or NoSQL), operating systems (Unix, Linux, and/or Windows).
• 2+ years of leading large complex programs experience.
• A valid (EU) driving license is required as Data Centers may not have any public transportation available nearby.
• 4+ years of data center engineering or operations experience.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with internal teams and customers along with innovating effective solutions to meet issues & problems as they arise
• Conducting site assessments at various facilities to proactively prepare for the onsite installation of AWS equipment
• Installing/expanding/provisioning AWS infrastructure at the third-party premises, data center, and/or non-traditional environment
• Troubleshooting hardware, network installations & configurations and performing network testing, break/fix, rack installations and/or decommissioning and solving complex problems
• Proactively identifying and implementing strategies that prevent support issues and/or further enhance the customer experience
• Process and track purchase orders for data center hardware components
• Monitor spare parts inventory levels and initiate replenishment orders
• Maintain accurate records in internal ordering databases
• Execute asset transfers across global locations
• Track order approvals and provide timely updates to stakeholders
• Identify and report shipment issues, including delays, cancellations, and expedited requests
• Manage shipment label distribution for new equipment and returns
• Coordinate with global teams to ensure timely delivery and resolution of issue
• Conduct day-to-day business, both internally and with external customers
• Required travel up to 25% on average. You will be required to travel between locations to install, service, and retrieve AWS equipment.
• Physical ability to push and/or pull heavy objects into position (regularly lift up to 18kg and participate in team lifts of 30 kg)
