Job summary

H&M in Stockholm is seeking a Business Controller to support Tech Controlling with budgeting, forecasting and reporting for Tech. You will provide financial insights, drive cost awareness, and influence investment decisions while ensuring data quality and strong financial control.

The role collaborates with leaders across Tech, delivering analyses, cost optimization and transparent reporting. A background in controlling or tech and a degree in business or engineering is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience in controlling, strategy or product management, or in a leadership role within tech or business development.
• Academic degree in business, engineering or related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations.
• Solid understanding of financial principles and practices.
• Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial and reporting tools, such as Power BI.

• Support purchasing processes, including agreements and invoice handling, and ensure financial control.
• Perform project controlling for tech investments in your area, including cost estimates and follow-up.

In Tech Controlling, our mission is to shape H&M’s future by turning brand plans into reality through cost transparency, fact-based financial decisions, and excellent collaboration. You will work closely with leaders and stakeholders within and outside Tech, supporting your area with financial insights, challenging priorities, and driving continuous improvement. Your focus will be to help the business make informed decisions and get the most value from its investments, while ensuring good cost control.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We are looking for a Business Controller with a background in controlling or tech and an interest in both technology and finance. The role offers the opportunity to work across Tech, influence investment decisions, and develop a broad understanding of how technology supports H&M’s business.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage budgeting, forecasting and reporting for your area, and contribute to consolidated financial reporting for Tech.

Provide financial analysis and insights to support strategic decisions, cost awareness, and business value.

WHO YOU'LL WORK WITH

You’ll be part of our Tech Controlling team, working closely with fellow controllers as well as leaders and teams across the entire Tech organization, as well as controllers and leaders in surrounding business functions.

WHO YOU ARE

We are looking for people with:

At least 5 years of relevant experience in controlling, strategy or product management, or in a leadership role within tech or business development.

An academic degree in business, engineering or related field.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sense of complex information and turn it into clear recommendations.

A solid understanding of financial principles and practices.

Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial and reporting tools, such as Power BI.
