Job summary

House of Dagmar, a Swedish luxury fashion house, seeks a Finance and Business Controller to join our Stockholm headquarters. You will oversee daily accounting, VAT, payroll, and financial reporting while partnering with production, logistics and sales to optimize margins and inventory.

You will analyze profitability across channels and projects, drive process improvements, and support continuous finance system enhancements.

Qualifications

• Relevant university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
• Previous experience within accounting, controlling, finance or business analysis.
• Strong Excel skills are essential for this role.
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is considered a plus.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actions.
• Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
• Strong communication skills in English, written and spoken.
• Experience within fashion, retail, consumer goods or a product‑driven business is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily accounting operations, including bookkeeping and ongoing financial administration.
• Handle accounts receivable and accounts payable, including invoice registration, incoming and outgoing payments, and communication with customers, suppliers and banks.
• Prepare and submit VAT reporting and VAT reconciliations, ensuring compliance with local regulations and deadlines.
• Perform account reconciliations, financial reporting and support monthly and annual closing processes.
• Manage payroll administration and reporting.
• Ensure accurate financial records, strong internal controls and compliance with accounting policies and routines.
• Co‑own product cost calculations together with the Production Manager, ensuring pricing and margins are aligned with company targets.
• Collaborate closely with production, logistics and sales teams to review purchasing plans and inventory levels, balancing demand and stock availability across seasonal and NOS products.
• Support and drive initiatives to optimize inventory and improve stock turnover and capital efficiency.
• Analyze profitability across sales channels, projects and business initiatives, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
• Contribute to ad hoc analyses and projects aimed at improving margins, operational performance and business results.
• Support the development and continuous improvement of finance processes, systems and ways of working across the organization.
