Job summary

Benifex-Sweden-Ab is seeking a Software Developer to join one of our platform teams in Gothenburg, focusing predominantly on backend development (90%+). You will design APIs, evolve long-lived frameworks, and ensure reliability, data integrity and security across the platform.

You will work with a tech lead, product manager and engineering manager, contributing to architectural decisions, code quality and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong experience with Java, SQL, and Spring / Spring Boot.
• Solid understanding of Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• API design and development (REST / OpenAPI).
• Care about clear, well-versioned, dependable interfaces.
• Experience evaluating trade-offs between design, quality and timeframes.
• Comfort working in large, established codebases.
• Practical experience in Domain-Driven Design.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain backend services, APIs and shared frameworks to a high standard.
• Evolve and progressively refactor a large, long-lived codebase safely.
• Treat non-functional qualities such as reliability, data integrity, security and performance as high priority.
• Collaborate with developers, product managers and stakeholders to keep solutions aligned with the business.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Write automated integration and component tests.
• Drive technical decisions and reduce technical debt; share knowledge across teams.
• Develop backend services with high coding standards.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, UX designers, and stakeholders.
