Job summary

Benifex is a fast-moving technology company providing online reward and benefits solutions. The role focuses on backend development (80–90%), with collaboration across a Gothenburg-based team of three developers, a PM, and an engineering manager.

You will translate business ideas into technical solutions, maintain high coding standards, and drive efficiency and scalability while shaping ways of working and technical strategy. AI tooling is embedded in daily workflows.

Qualifications

• Strong experience in Java, SQL, and Spring/Spring Boot.
• Solid Git and CI/CD pipelines knowledge.
• Familiar with JavaScript/TypeScript for occasional frontend work.
• Experience with Domain-Driven Design in practice.
• Hands-on with monolithic and microservices architectures.
• Collaborative, open communicator, comfortable with pair programming.
• Curious about AI-driven workflows.
• Value code quality and critically evaluate AI suggestions.

Responsibilities

• Develop backend services and maintain high coding standards.
• Contribute to frontend changes using JavaScript/TypeScript when needed.
• Collaborate with developers, product owners, UX designers, and stakeholders.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards.
• Implement automated integration and component tests.
• Drive technical strategy, refactor legacy code, reduce technical debt.
• Engage in pair and mob programming sessions.
• Actively use and evaluate AI tooling in the development workflow.
