Job summary

Bitrefill is hiring to expand our Lightning Network and Bitcoin payment infrastructure. You will own and improve the end-to-end payments, work hands-on with LND/CLN/LDK, and help secure and monitor crypto flows in a globally distributed setup.

We ship with product and design, contribute to internal libraries, and explore new tech as the space evolves. Remote-first culture with a focus on building scalable crypto payments.

Qualifications

• Proven software development track record with shipping real features.
• Deep understanding of Lightning Network and Bitcoin fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with at least one Lightning implementation (LND/CLN/LDK).
• Strong backend expertise with Node.js/TypeScript and Python.
• Crypto-native mindset and self-driven with proactive opportunity spotting.

Responsibilities

• Own and improve Lightning Network and Bitcoin payment infra, from daily upgrades to major stack-wide improvements.
• Hands-on with Lightning implementations (LND/CLN/LDK), payment channels, and liquidity management.
• Analyze Lightning payment flow, conduct incident forensic work, and build monitoring and policies.
• Strengthen security: key management, HSMs, and safekeeping of funds.
• Collaborate with finance to ensure crypto transaction accounting reflects Bitcoin movements.
• Evaluate and integrate new Bitcoin and Lightning tech as the space evolves.
• Ship new payment protocols into production, e.g., PayJoin and nostr-based flows.
• Build the Lightning side of our agentic commerce work.
• Collaborate with product/design; contribute to internal libraries and open-source tooling.
