Job summary

Getinge is seeking a Production Engineer to lead complex production development and transformation projects in Växjö, combining project leadership, industrialization, and operational improvement in a regulated medical technology environment.

You will own cross-functional initiatives, shape future manufacturing operations, and collaborate closely with Product Development and Operations to ensure robust documentation and production readiness.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree from university or equivalent working experience.
• Several years of relevant experience in production engineering, industrialization, manufacturing development, value stream engineering or project management.
• Proven experience leading complex cross-functional projects and implementing change in a manufacturing environment.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken. Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is an advantage.

• Lead major production development, industrialization and transformation projects, including the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes.
• Develop and optimize production layouts, assembly concepts, material flows, internal logistics and capacity solutions.
• Coordinate Design Transfer and act as a key interface between Product Development and Operations, ensuring robust documentation and production readiness.
• Drive the implementation of automation and new manufacturing technologies that support future operational needs.
• Lead Manufacturing Excellence initiatives by applying Lean principles, standardization, waste reduction and structured continuous improvement to strengthen safety, quality, delivery and productivity.

About this opportunity

Production Engineering supports the development, industrialization and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations in Växjö. We work closely with Production, R&D, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and Supply Chain to create safe, compliant and efficient production solutions.

Our team is entering an important phase with several major production development initiatives.

In this role, your primary responsibility will be to lead complex production development and transformation projects from concept to sustainable implementation. You will combine project leadership, industrialization, production engineering and operational improvement in a highly regulated medical technology environment.

What you will do

You will take ownership of cross-functional initiatives that shape future manufacturing operations. The role requires both strategic perspective and a hands-on approach to implementation.

• Lead major production development, industrialization and transformation projects, including the introduction of new products and manufacturing processes.
• Develop and optimize production layouts, assembly concepts, material flows, internal logistics and capacity solutions.
• Coordinate Design Transfer and act as a key interface between Product Development and Operations, ensuring robust documentation and production readiness.
• Drive the implementation of automation and new manufacturing technologies that support future operational needs.

This position is based in Växjö, Sweden. Due to the operational and project-based nature of the role, it is mainly based on site.

You will bring

To be successful in this position, we believe that you have the following qualifications.

• Engineering degree from university or equivalent working experience
• Several years of relevant experience in production engineering, industrialization, manufacturing development, value stream engineering or project management.
• Proven experience leading complex cross-functional projects and implementing change in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of Lean methods, production flow optimization and structured continuous improvement.
• Experience in production layout, material flow development and preferably automation or advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Experience from medical technology or another regulated industry, with knowledge of quality management systems and regulatory requirements, is highly meritorious.
• Fluency in Swedish and English, both written and spoken. Experience with SAP or a similar ERP system is an advantage.
