Job summary

GlobalLogic is seeking a highly experienced Product Area Lead to guide Android platform teams operating deep in the HAL and Android AOSP, requiring a robust technical background to lead effectively. This hybrid role combines hands-on Android platform development, product ownership, technical leadership, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years of professional experience in Automotive or Android software development.
• Strong experience with Android development using Java/Kotlin and C/C++.
• Strong knowledge of Android AOSP and the AOSP build system.
• Hands-on experience with Android Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).
• Experience working with Android platform or embedded software.
• Experience maintaining and developing software in complex, long-lived products.
• Experience with tools such as:Git,Jenkins,Jira,Artifactory
• Good understanding of software verification and test development.
• Understanding of software quality assurance practices.
• Experience working with requirements, prioritization, planning, or product ownership.
• Valid work permit in Sweden.

Responsibilities

• Take end-to-end ownership of an Android product area within the automotive infotainment system.
• Define and communicate the product vision, goals, roadmap, and priorities together with relevant stakeholders.
• Act as a technical leader and subject‑matter expert for Android platform development within the product area.
• Own and continuously prioritize the product backlog, balancing business value, customer needs, technical debt, quality, risks, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
• Provide high‑level guidance for the maintenance, performance tuning, and stability of existing AOSP/HAL system
• Make pragmatic trade‑offs between business value, technical feasibility, quality, risk, and delivery timelines.
• Ensure that the team is focused on the most important product and technical outcomes.
• Identify dependencies and coordinate with other product areas and engineering teams.
• Represent the product area in planning, reviews, technical discussions, and decision‑making forums.
• Ensure that product decisions, priorities, and requirements are clearly communicated to the development team.

This is a hybrid role combining hands‑on Android platform development, product ownership, technical leadership, and stakeholder management. As Product Area Lead and Product Owner, you will act as the link between business and product needs and the engineering organization. You will help define the product vision and roadmap, prioritize work, make technical and product decisions, and ensure that the team delivers solutions that provide value to both the customer and the overall product.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electronics, or equivalent experience.


• 10 + years of professional experience in Automotive or Android software development.


• Strong experience with Android development using Java/Kotlin and C/C++.
